Mission Statement

Tip Agri (Pty) Ltd is a South African company offering the first unique plant growth regulant proprietary formulation Uniconazole 50g/ℓ Tip Plus ® aimed primarily at the citrus growers and more specifically at soft citrus (mandarins) and lemon producers to increase yields and improve fruit quality.

We also undertake to:

  • Supply product of the highest quality,
  • To offer prompt and efficient delivery service,
  • To back our product with highly trained technical personnel, and
  • To operate in a socially responsible manner.

Established

Tip Agri (Pty) Ltd was registered in 2016 Reg No:  2016/493406/07 to house a plant growth regulant, Uniconazole 50g/ℓ Tip Plus ®.  This plant growth regulant contained complex surfactants to increase soil applied uptake to the growing points in the fruit trees, ultimately resulting in substantial yield increases.

Tip Plus ® had already been 7 years in developing but results were so promising that a company Tip Agri (Pty) Ltd was registered to house this unique product.  This ground breaking work resulted in the granting of the Tip Plus ® patent (SA Patent Number 2017/07517).

Registration

Registration work was an accumulation of 7 years of intensive research culminating in the granting of a registration in February 2020 (Reg No L10815, Act 36 of 1947).

The current label is citrus and more specifically soft citrus (mandarins) and lemons.

Timing of application to manipulate the tree is critical, and highly trained technical staff are in place to guide citrus farmers.

The characteristics of the product are to regulate vegetative growth, channelling the plant’s energy to the fruit to increase productivity.

The main benefits of Tip Plus ® application are:

  • Decreased vegetative growth resulting in less pruning,
  • Increased production, up to 30% plus,
  • Minimising the risk of alternate bearing,
  • Better size and pack out, and
  • Better colour.

Application is also unique via the irrigation lines and drippers/microjets thus reducing tractor usage and pollution, thus reducing the carbon footprint.

We at Tip Agri believe Tip Plus ® has a much broader reach and other development work has already started.
